Reggio Zenitale

Creative direction, visual identity and web design for Reggio Zenitale, a project aiming to document and investigate the landscape of Calabria and Sicily through the unusual point of view given by satellite imagery.

Despite the visual power of some of the selected images and the apparent order of the local communities observed at a such big scale, the contradictions of the Anthropocene strongly emerged.

With an effort to go beyond the pure aesthetics of images, this on-going research intends to be an additional tool to foster and enhance our critical consciousness about the places we inhabit and our impact on them.

Founded by myself, Lidia Errante and Giulia Dattilo in April 2016, it now counts more than 200 images posted on a daily basis and it has been published on Huffington Post and VICE Motherboard.
